PAPYRUS have been awarded funding from the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership and Kirklees Council, to deliver training across West Yorkshire until September 2024.
The training is suitable for the following groups:
- Those working with children and young people
- Criminal justice – probation service, police stations, prisons and young offenders.
- Housing associations – those who may come across tenants with specific risk factors for suicide.
- GP surgeries – including social prescribers and those supporting people with long term conditions.
- DWP staff, debt advisors and others who come into contact with the recently unemployed, or those experiencing debt and/or financial exclusion.
- Union representatives and line managers in major employers, particularly of men.
All sessions shown below will be delivered either in person or online via zoom.
The trainings have been split via location – Bradford, Calderdale, Leeds, Wakefield, and Kirklees. Please only book onto a session that is in your area.
We are also offering some West Yorkshire-wide sessions for those based in Bradford, Calderdale, Leeds, Wakefield, and Kirklees.

ASIST
We are running a total of 4 ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) workshops which are kindly funded by the West Yorkshire Suicide Prevention Partnership. This is a skills building workshop that prepares participants to provide suicide first aid interventions.
