When navigating the online environment, there can be images or information that you come across that could be triggering, offensive and cause distress. Should this happen to you, you have the right to report the content to the platform providers and ask that the content be removed.
Report Harmful Content is a national reporting centre which has been designed to assist anyone in reporting harmful content online. This service, delivered by The UK Safer Internet Centre provides advice about all types of harm online and highlights the reporting route for content that is considered ‘legal’ but is harmful to the user.

When using social media, it is good to know what the platform sets out within their Community Guidelines so that you can be sure that the content you are posting adheres to this but also, so you know what type of content would be in breach of the guidelines and how you would report it.
