Sinking Feeling is PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide’s short film which has been created in collaboration with the BAFTA Award-winning animation studio, Blue Zoo.

Launched on World Suicide Prevention Day 2021, Sinking Feeling explores themes of loneliness, isolation and the importance of peer support; it tackles the heart-breaking reality that many children and young people are suffering in silence without the vital help and support they need.

The Blue Zoo Virtual Choir recorded a cover of ‘True Colours’ by Cyndi Lauper to accompany the story of the short.

We caught up with the team at Blue Zoo for our HOPECAST podcast series, to talk all things Sinking Feeling. In the podcast, we discuss how the film came to be, the different processes involved, and the importance of talking about suicide in order to break down the stigma surrounding it. You can listen to the Blue Zoo episode, here – or, search PAPYRUS HOPECAST on Spotify.
