High Crompton HOPEWALK 2023
HOPEWALK is PAPYRUS’s flagship fundraising event which takes place each October across the UK. This year, PAPYRUS is celebrating it’s ten year HOPEWALK anniversary – we launched HOPEWALK around World Mental Health Awareness Day on October 10th 2013. Originally, we asked supporters to organise walks during this week in October, but over the years it has evolved and now takes place over the whole month of October.
Everyone’s HOPEWALK will be different with one common goal; to smash the stigma and get the conversation around suicide started. It’s an opportunity to gather friends and family together – or take on a solo walk – to raise awareness and funds for PAPYRUS and suicide prevention, or to walk for someone you’ve lost.
The High Compton HOPEWALK will start on the 14th October, from North Star Inn, High Crompton Shaw (38 Rushcroft Road, Shaw, Oldham, OL2 7PR) . If you have any questions about this form please email hopewalk@papyrus-uk.org.

Their walks will take place on Saturday 14th October.
5 Mile Walk – A planned route of approximately 5 miles (3Hrs.) This route starts at Hollingworth Lake and finishes at the North Star, High Crompton. Note: you will need to get yourselves to the start point at Hollingworth Lake
10 Mile Walk – A planned route of approximately 10 miles (6.5 Hrs.) This circular route starts and finishes at the North Star and goes via Hollingworth Lake.
Each group of walkers must have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 people. If you wish to take part, please email Hopewalk2023@aol.com to request a team registration form, fill in the form you receive for the correct mileage walk and return it to Sarah before the 7th October.
The event will cost £5.00 Per Person. This should be paid at the time of booking using the Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/peter-fitchett4 ensure you tell Sarah your team name with the payment.
