The Simplyhealth Great North Run is the biggest half marathon in the world with over 57,000 runners taking part in the famous 13.1 mile UK half marathon. From the very beginning this event has been a celebration of what makes the North East great; thousands of supporters lining the course, hundreds of volunteers helping you along the way and runners like you, who embody dedication and determination whatever their reason for running. So come and join a 13.1 mile journey from Newcastle’s city centre to the coast in South Shields; all live on the BBC!
When will race packs be sent to runners?
Runners will receive their race packs approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the event, which will include their race number, timing chip and event information.

There’s no minimum sponsorship amount, as you have purchased your own place, we just ask that you raise what you can and help save young lives!
