How does PAPYRUS use my data?
To ensure we are compliant with the forthcoming changes in data protection regulations, we would be grateful if you could fill in our communications preference form telling us how we can communicate with you. PAPYRUS will treat any information you give to us as confidential and will never use it for marketing purposes. We will store it and use it only to be able to contact you and share information with you from PAPYRUS.
What is Gift Aid?
The Gift Aid scheme is for gifts of money by individuals who pay UK tax. It allows your chosen charity to reclaim the basic rate of tax from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on the value of your donation before tax was deducted. For example, if you donate £10 using Gift Aid, it's worth £12.50 to the charity.
How do I claim Gift Aid on my donation?
All you need to do is complete a Gift Aid Declaration form which can be downloaded here. Return this to PAPYRUS along with the donation you wish to make and we will contact HMRC to make sure your donation received Gift Aid. You can also back date a Gift Aid declaration. If you have made a donation in the past without a Gift Aid declaration, simply let us know and we will be able to process this for you.

How do I transfer my fundraising total?
You can either:
Send a cheque made payable to 'PAPYRUS' to PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide, Lineva House, 28-32 Milner Street, Warrington, Cheshire, WA5 1AD.
Send an electronic transfer or pay the money directly into our bank account. You can pay the money via most high street banks using the following details:
PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide. Sort Code: 405240 Account number: 00009952.
With your payment, please remember to tell us how the money has been raised by sending a note with your cheque, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Can I hold a public collection?
By law you are required to have a public collection permit, issued by your local authority. In order to hold a public collection, you will need to first inform us where you wish to hold your collection and we shall be able to advise you on how to obtain the permit. Please be aware that councils can only issue one permit per charity each year.
Can I run a raffle?
If you wish to run a prize draw raffle over a period of several days or weeks, you will need to use licenced raffle tickets. Please speak to a member of the fundraising team about this and we will be able to advise you on obtaining the appropriate tickets. If you wish to run a raffle to be drawn on the same day the tickets are sold, you are able to use cloakroom tickets for this and you do not need a licence.
Does PAPYRUS have any London Marathon places for 2017?
PAPYRUS does not have a place of their on the London Marathon this year. If you would like a chance to run the London Marathon for PAPYRUS, please enter the ballot which is held after the marathon each year. The ballot for 2018 places took place between May 1 2017 and May 5 2017, and is now closed. We are hoping for more places in the future and we will update our events page with details. We will be able to provide fundraising support and materials to help each of our runners achieve their fundraising goals and more. Our outdoor challenges page contains useful information about events taking place in the UK and overseas, along with details on how to take part supporting PAPYRUS.
Can I use your logo on my t-shirts and posters?
We're happy for you to promote PAPYRUS by using our logo on promotional items such as posters and t-shirts. We have a high resolution logo that we're happy to send to you but we ask that you show us any designs before they are printed so that we can approve how our logo is being used.
Does PAPYRUS host any fundraising events that I can join?
Once a year PAPYRUS hosts the national HOPEWalk - more information about this event can be found here. We are also very happy to support fundraisers who create their own events. Please do get in touch with email@example.com as we'd love to support you. Alternatively, have a look on our events pages for inspiration.
What help can PAPYRUS offer me?
Depending on your event, we can help you with the planning process, such as seeking donations or sponsorship. Along with this we will support you with literature about PAPYRUS, such as leaflets and HOPELineUK contact cards and merchandise to make your event stand out.
