Our Suicide Prevention Products

Important announcement (Covid-19): PAPYRUS is committed to providing engaging and thought-provoking education and training sessions. Working within strict Government guidelines we are able to deliver Covid safe face to face sessions. These sessions meet the current safety requirements.

Our education and training programme equips individuals, groups and organisations with the knowledge and skills to better understand suicide and suicide prevention.

Through presentations, tutorials and training products PAPYRUS support communities to become suicide safer.

Either attend as an individual at a session organised by our regional offices or commission a session for your group, organisation or community.

Presentation (Face to Face and Online)

SP-ARK Suicide Prevention – Awareness, Resource, Knowledge. An introduction to PAPYRUS and Suicide Prevention

The key objectives are:

  • To increase awareness of Suicide and Suicide Prevention
  • To provide information about PAPYRUS – Prevention of Young Suicide
  • To develop Hope and encourage action for a suicide safer community
  • To understand the importance of self-care.

 

SP-ARK’ed Suicide Prevention – Awareness, Resource, Knowledge e-delivery. An introduction to PAPYRUS and Suicide Prevention

The key objectives are:

  • To raise awareness of Suicide and Suicide Prevention
  • To provide information about PAPYRUS – Prevention of Young Suicide
  • To develop Hope and encourage action for a suicide safer community
  • To understand the importance of self-care.

Delivery Time: 30 Minutes (for both versions)
Cost: Free (one session per organisation)

 

Tutorial (Face to Face and Online)

SP-OT Suicide Prevention – Overview Tutorial. What EVERYONE needs to know.

The key objectives are

  • To understand the prevalence and impact of suicide
  • To explore the language, and the challenges, when talking openly about suicide
  • To recognise the ‘signs’ that may indicate someone is having thoughts of suicide
  • To consider how we can all contribute to a suicide safer community.

 

SP-OT’ed Suicide Prevention – Overview Tutorial e-delivery. What EVERYONE needs to know.

The key objectives are

  • To understand the prevalence and impact of suicide
  • To explore the language, and the challenges, when talking openly about suicide
  • To recognise the ‘signs’ that may indicate someone is having thoughts of suicide
  • To consider how we can all contribute to a suicide safer community.

Delivery Time: 90 minutes (both versions)
Cost: £250 (minimum 8, max 30 participants)

 

Training (Face to Face)

SP-EAK Suicide Prevention – Explore, Ask, Keep-Safe. An introduction to Suicide Prevention skills

The key objectives are

  • To consider the attitudes, myths and stigma that surround suicide
  • To recognise and explore the ‘signs’ that may indicate someone is having thoughts of suicide
  • To encourage an open, safe and sensitive conversation about suicide with a person having thoughts of suicide
  • To support a safety plan with someone thinking of suicide.

Delivery Time: 3.5 hours
Cost: £450 (minimum 8, max 30 participants)

 

ASIST Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (2 days): A skills building workshop that prepares caregivers to provide suicide first aid interventions.

The key objectives for you to learn to

  • To consider personal and societal attitudes to suicide
  • To learn the most widely used suicide prevention model in the world
  • To recognise, and act on, the signs that someone is having thoughts of suicide
  • To seek a shared understanding of the reasons for thoughts of suicide and identify reasons for living
  • To review current risk and develop a joint plan to keep someone safe from suicide, signposting for further help and community resources as needed.

Delivery Time: 2 days
Cost: £5000 (minimum 16, max 30 participants) £4500 if the organiser provides the venue.

Notes:

The Applied Suicide Intervention Training Skills (ASIST) prices are negotiable based on the provision of venue, equipment, refreshments and other factors. Please contact the training team here if you would like to discuss this. Trainer travel expenses may be applicable.

 

PAPYRUS regularly organises “open” training sessions where anyone over the age of 18 can book on. View our upcoming sessions and book your place here.

We endeavour to make our training as accessible as possible. When making a booking please share details of any additional learning or access needs. This will allow our trainers to prepare and make reasonable adjustments.

PAYMENT TERMS AND CANCELLATION POLICY FOR INDIVIDUALS

Full payment for attendance at PAPYRUS training is due at the time of booking.
We understand however that sometimes there is a need to change or cancel your place on a workshop. If you cannot attend, or no longer require a place, please provide notice of cancellation in writing. An administration or cancellation fee will apply, dependant on the notice given.


Notice period prior to course dates and applicable fees

More than eight weeks

Participants may transfer to an alternative date without an administration charge.
Participants may also cancel their place free of charge.

Between four and eight weeks

Participants may transfer to another course with an administration charge of 10% of original cost, plus any difference in course fees where the new course is more expensive.
For cancellations, an administration fee of 25% will be charged.

Between two and four weeks

Participants may transfer to another course with an administration charge of 50% of original cost, plus any difference in course fees where the new course is more expensive.
For cancellations, an administration fee of 75% will be charged.

Between 24 hours and two weeks

Participants may transfer to another course with an administration charge of 75% of original cost, plus any difference in course fees where the new course is more expensive.
For cancellations, an administration fee of 100% will be charged.

Within 24 hours of commencement

No transfers or refunds permitted. An administration fee of 100% will be charged.

Only one transfer is permitted per course per participant. If you transfer your booking to another course, you will not be entitled to any refund for cancelling the subsequent course. The fee will be charged as above.

If the number of participants on a course is low PAPYRUS-Prevention of Young Suicide reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule the training course. We will make a decision, at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the course. In the event that participants cannot be accommodated on an alternative course, a full refund will be given.

Additional charges may be made if specific trainer or venue costs are incurred as a result of an organisation cancelling. PAPYRUS-Prevention of Young Suicide cannot be held responsible for any extra costs incurred as a result of a cancelled or re-scheduled course. In some circumstances it may be possible to make reasonable adjustments to these fees.
