This week is Children’s Mental Health week and we have teamed up with Mood Bears as part of their new ‘Bear a Smile’ campaign.
The last 12 months have been challenging for everyone and sometimes, as we adults try to navigate the new normal, it can be easy to lose sight of how the pandemic is impacting on our children.
We have been amazed by the resilience and bravery shown by many young people who have had the courage to open up about how they are feeling and contacted HOPELINEUK.
The theme for Children’s Mental health week is ‘Express Yourself’ and through our partnership with Mood Bears, we are encouraging you to talk to your children about how they are feeling. There is so much uncertainty around at the moment and it can lead to many different emotions that can sometimes be confusing. By opening up a conversation and letting your children know that it is ok to feel different, we are empowering them to look at ways in which they can overcome some of these challenges.
Mood Bears are a fantastic way to engage with children around their feelings and help them to understand what is happening around them. The ‘Bear a Smile’ campaign aims to provide 200 cuddly bears to children’s hospitals around the UK throughout February. The hope is that by providing a Mood Bear, which can help children to understand issues surrounding mental health, it will encourage children and their families to talk openly about what is happening around them.

For every Mood Bear sponsored during Children’s Mental Health Week, a donation will be made to PAPYRUS.

Throughout Children’s Mental Health Week we will be sharing short videos based around the bears and different ways we may feel or show a certain emotion. Watch them all below!
