Volunteer Suicide Prevention Advisors
At PAPYRUS, our suicide prevention services are operated by qualified personnel. PAPYRUS recognises that some such people want to offer their services as volunteers. Working alongside our regular staff, these volunteers bring experiences from their own world of work with young people or with people who are experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviour. Primarily these volunteers, work to offer life-saving advice through HOPELineUK, PAPYRUS text and email advice.
You will need to be qualified at degree level in mental health, social care, teaching, youth work or similar
You will have at least three years experience in working with people who are suicidal or living with a mental illness
You will be passionate about offering practical and specialist advice to young people who may be suicidal and to those who are concerned about them
You will receive support and training to supplement your own skills, knowledge and experience
You would support the work of the others on the team of professional advisors
You will work some unsocial hours to meet the needs of vulnerable adults and young people
You will comply with PAPYRUS Safeguarding Policy and Procedures including an Enhanced CRB Disclosure or equivalent (PAPYRUS organises this)

Admin Volunteers
At our office in Warrington, we strive to support our UK-wide membership and supporters. you may be able to part of that service, offering occasional or regular volunteer support.
You will be able to get to our office in Warrington and work to deliver occasional admin tasks (such as emailing, photocopying, office filing, shredding, help with mailing distribution, etc.)
You will receive support and training to supplement your own skills, knowledge and experience
