Help Save a Young Life
and the Environment this Christmas
07 December 2009
PAPYRUS the national charity for prevention of young suicide has a great charitable idea to help save young lives and the environment, whilst spreading seasonal goodwill among friends and colleagues this Christmas.
Instead of everyone at your work, school, college or close community swapping cards with each other, PAPYRUS will supply you with a quality Christmas card, which everyone in your group can sign and then display in a prominent position in your building.
Everyone can donate to PAPYRUS the amount they would have spent on individual cards and the charity will send you a certification in celebration of the amount you raised.
Every year in the UK around 1,400 young people under the age of 35 take their own lives. PAPYRUS provides resources, support and practical advice to young people worried about themselves and others concerned about a young person they know. The charity’s national helpline - HOPELineUK - 0800 068 41 41 - is staffed by trained professionals who discuss in confidence how to cope - what to say and do to help overcome suicidal feelings, where to access additional help. To do this PAPYRUS relies heavily on donations and fundraising.
