PAPYRUS Sponsors Mental Health Award
PAPYRUS is supporting practice and community nursing staff by sponsoring the Nursing in Practice Mental Health Award 2009, that seeks to find a project working towards ameliorating the lives of those living with mental health issues.
The Nursing in Practice Awards are organised by Nursing in Practice Magazine, which is read by practice, district, community and mental health nurses, health visitors and midwives.
Nursing professionals are well equipped with the knowledge and skills to deal with young suicidal people, but for their patients’ families and friends it is a very stressful time, knowing what to say and do, worrying that any approach could tip that person over the edge.
Whilst helping the patient, medical staff may not be in a position nor have adequate time to guide other people in their personal support group. Our national confidential helpline - HOPELineUK 0800 068 41 41 - is an additional valuable resource.
